DSE212 has started

This may be a bit of a long update as it may have been a while.

DSE212 has begun and I now totally understand why they suggest that you do it prior to ED209. DSE212 looks a doddle in comparison. SD226 starts in february and I have already been warned that it is more like a 60 point module rather than the advertised 30 points although to be fair with only 4 TMAs and no exam, it can't be more problematic than ED209.

ED209 exam actually went pretty well considering. I had revised 7 topics between Book 1 and 2 focusing on topics which had come up frequently in the past 4 years of exams. Luckily for me, Temperament came up and Gender Identity came up. Seen Question went pretty well although I was re-reading it up to the last minute but it did stick fairly well. Temperament did go out of my head a bit but some stuck enough to put to paper and Gender Identity became more of a ramble.

DSE212 - Have started TMA01 which is due November 9th and have made a fair stab at it. It is based around identity theories but not like in ED209 although some of the ideas are similar. Going to use next Wednesday to get it done. The Ethics part is pretty much okay, just need to break down what I have in to 3 answers.

Am looking for another job again and possibly looking at moving from car sales in to Recruitment Consultancy only because I want 9-5 Monday to Friday but has downside of no company car. Started looking properly today and have had calls about car sales job, one of which could be quite interesting.

Long required update

It's been a while since I blogged, this is mainly down to the fact that I can no longer do it from work which is a pain.

ED209 TMA03 has been submitted, the more I re-read it, the more annoying it was so just submitted it to be done. Relief.

DD101 TMA07 is virtually in note form and as it is 'no boss' day tomorrow at work, the notes will be finished and I plan to have my first draft finished too.

ED209 TMA04 - Have looked at it and will wait till I submit DD101 TMA07 before actually starting it.

SD226 - Registered and confirmed

DSE212 - Applied for financial support and waiting to hear back

New job - I am back where I started when I first started this course which is nice and familiar. Sold a few cars, one to a VIP. Love getting up 45 minutes later than before.

Boy Toy - Dumped him yesterday but he is okay and we are remaining friends. I feel sorry for him a lot but I think I am stuck with him one way or another for a while.

The One - Saw him Sunday night whilst I was sober and he was wasted. All very confusing but have a feeling it will become clear pretty soon.

Voluntary Work - FINALLY have heard back and have interview on the 13th. I am actually rather nervous but quite excited.

Brief update but far too much to go in to on one post so thought that something was better than nothing. The next update will be on the progress of DD101 TMA07 which is groovy as it will be the last time I press the submit button for DD101. Gonna miss it but glad it's almost behind me.

A day of dread

Ar 6.10pm today I will be resigning from my position here which means that I should be let go of on the spot for going to work for the competitor however byu the looks of it, there will only be 1 person left here tomorrow so wondering about the outcome. Am prepped and ready to be gone tonight, stepdad is preped to come collect me once the deed is done.

If the above goes to plan then it means that I will have 2 days without a car and therefore I have 2 days to blitz ED209 TMA03 (due next Tuesday (that crept up on me)) and DD101 TMA07. I am ready to see the end of DD101 now, I have really enjoyed it but now starting to see the workload involved in running 2 60 point modules together although I am doing the same again at the end of this year with SD226 & DSE212 however with no exam for SD226, I think that I might be okay.

I am stacking it about resigning today but my work buddy is going to stay with me till I've done it.

New Job - Take 2

As it turns out, the job that I started back on December 1st has turned out to be a bad decision for lots of reasons so as of just now I have a job offer starting on February 1st with a company who are far more highly regarded and a known entity!! Will resign middle of next week and hopefully have a week or more off. I should probably go on about how I will use this time off to study which I obviously will mostly because I will be without a car but I'm certain that Desperate Housewives, Dexter and maybe Weeds could be included and a new boy toy that I have aquired!!!

Recieved Media Kit for ED209 so going to have a go through that a bit later. Have gone through the Methods and Skills book and highlighted important bits in yellow and theorists in green (too many coloured highlighters so still got to work out what to do with pink, purple and blue!!!)

TMA05 is currently put to one side and my actual hurdle in getting it done is actually the headings which I know sounds daft as I have the content so that is my next thing to sort.

TMA06 hasn't been started so will get on to that once TMA05 is in full draft stage, I think the reading will be interesting as it will have arguements for and against migration which is a topic I have fairly strong views on myself so need to make sure that they don't get in the way.

TMA02 Results

Been away from this blog a while due to my lack of interest in TMA03 and new job starting however need to get back on the horse as one might say as deadline is January 11th!!!

Got TMA02 results back and am happy with these ones, biggest error was my lack of secondary referencing which I understand now.

TMA03 is now driving my loopy, I just want to get it over and done with so that I can get on to the more interesting topic of Social Disorder and writing TMA04 on accounts of Social Disorder. Have written about 1500 words of notes ready to convert to a TMA!! I don't think this one will achieve a high mark so just need to get it done and submitted. Not long to go now before I can archive LC1/2 and The main text book all ready for the next pack to arrive early January.

New job going well, still very early days

Notice

I've now handed notice and to be fair boss took it very well.... in fact maybe a little too well!!! He has offered me job back if things don't pan out but also got offer for another company that I went for interview with 3 months ago (better late than never I suppose). Still sticking with original offer and rather excited. Last day at current job is 10th November and off to Lanzarote on 11th for a week. New job should now start 23rd November.

It has now been 3 days since deadline for TMA01 and I don't have a result. Others have theirs I see on FB.... am jealous. Am hoping that weekend should give tutor time to give me my very hopeful 80+.

Still haven't made any headway with TMA03, am just going to hold fire till holiday and put something rather uninspiring together as I am really not loving this topic of identities.

Offer Letter

Offer letter not on doorstep today so hopefully tomorrow. I am really not looking forward to handing in notice on Wednesday, had team meeting with boss this morning.... he is looking forward to new guy starting on Wednesday so that we are a team of 4 again, this is going to hurt like hell.

Off to Alton Towers tomorrow for adreneline week so only a few rides open but cheap and hopefully fairly quiet. Already dreading Oblivion which even after Orlando still hurts me in a way that nothing else can.

Currently waiting for mother to finish burning the flan in the oven then on to Dexter which aired last night.

On the OU front I have done nothing really today except check the forum, the only thing I found was a note from tutor regarding November 6th tutorial and what to expect. I can't go so hoping all info will appear on forum after. To be honest, I've already finished TMA02 so not too worried.

For TMA03 I have been looking through the appendix of Learning Companion 2 to see what is required. It appears that I only have to show an awareness of identity, discourse etc.... therefore i will do what I can without stressing my brain too much.

ED209 Registration papers

The registration papers for ED209 have arrived today and am actually going to pay monthly for this one. I managed to write some notes on Chapter 4 last night for DD101 and am really struggling with the explanation for 'Discourse', in my mind it seems similar to stereotypes but I think I have got this really wrong. Was thinking of asking my tutor however I am a little too far ahead for this to be a real option at the moment. After a week of pure study in Lanzarote and hopefully returning with drafts for both TMA03 and TMA04 (I did say that I needed to get ahead!!!) I will question it if I am still struggling. I would like to have TMA05 done during Christmas and a lot of reading towards TMA06 with only TMA07 to mix with ED209. Simples...........she says!!!

Sending my brother to pick up my offer letter from new job tomorrow else I won't be able to hand in notice on Saturday like I plan. Going to take my boss to Crazy Bear so hopefully the beautiful surroundings will help divert his attention from me abandoning him.

Off to see Saw 3D tonight............. OMG, I love Halloween!!!!!!!!

New Job & TMA02

Went for 2nd interview yesterday with new car firm and found out a few hours later that I got it........... More money, better company car, better prospects and a potentially super cool boss. Whoop whoop. Hopefully December 1st start.

Downside is that I won't be able to have as much time to study at work although suspect this is normal for most OU students so can't really complain.

I have completed all 1250 words for TMA02, now I just have to put it all together, reference the end and reflect...... Simples (maybe)

Been looking for a flash USB stick since Sunday, just want a cheap one that will also act as a keyring, will have shopped the world before I eventually purchase I think.
