Ah hell........... TMA04 is proving to be awkward. It is kind of a report and essay in 1 and I think that it is going to take some time. I am so glad I have started it early enough.
Tonight I have managed to do the coding side of it which I am pretty sure is the 'easiest' part. Methods section might not be too bad, and maybe not even the results however the discussion, abstract and introduction are going to be tough ones. Also the title might prove a toughy.
Bring on TMA05............. you are going to be simple in comparison me thinks.
Also on a technology note. I have no idea how I am going to submit the apendices unless I have overlooked something really vital which may well be the case.
I have decided to only revise the top 8 topics for the exam that have come up in previous years ensuring 2 from each book plus a couple of back ups. Will start writing up my seen question soon to so that I can commit it to memory.
It's odd how the brain works but DSE212 starting on October 1st seems miles away but the ED209 exam on October 18th seems too soon.

DD101 TMA05 Results
Finally my results are back however not sure they were really worth the wait. This is the lowest grade I have had so far and unless I hit gold with TMA06 and TMA07, I may only finish the module with a Pass 3. DD101 as I've mentioned before doesn't actually count towards my final degree mark but I would like to finish on a pass 2.
After my 2nd tutorial for ED209 and the advice on critical evaluation, I am going to take a totally different stance for TMA06 than previously thought and planned. Up until now I have been pretty much 'dumping' information in to my DD101 assignments so now it is time for a change. For TMA06 I am choosing the option of the question about migration and I am going to take a side and only use the evidence that supports my arguement. I know that this probably sounds like something I should have been doing from the start but my awesome ED209 tutor has really explained TMAs well and I now understand what should or shouldn't be in them.
I can now use DD101 to experiment on TMA structure as it will do no harm.

100th post
It's a mile stone 6 months in to my degree to reach 100 posts on here. I am actually pretty amazed that I have managed to keep this up....... to be fair it actually becomes a little addictive.
Still no DD101 marks however according to the forums on ED209 from people who haven't yet recieved marks for ED209 TMA01, there may be issues with the TMA system so will just have to wait.
Managed to do a bit on the fOCUSII - reliability section but it was starting to get a bit heavy going so stopped about half way through especially as boy toy couldn't work out why he kept hearing Bill Clinton discuss his sexual relations with Monica Lewinsky.
I am now wishing TMA02 to be over. I have gone from having too little info to wanting to put in too much info and I'm baffled. I am going to leave it till Tuesday when I am off and just hit it and get it done, I know this won't lead to a wonderful score but I am sick of thinking about it and I have never read so many forum posts trying to get ideas.
Off on Sunday so the plan is to put OU stuff to one side and enjoy the sunshine which will start with a game of golf with dad followed by our usual liquid lunch refreshment then over to the garage to try to sort the Air Flow Meter out on the Peugeot........ I own a convertible, the sun is out and I am not driving it so rather frustrated. There is no point getting the stuff done for the MOT until I can get her running properly.
Boy toy is a wonderful psychology study all by himself. He has some rather serious issues from his past that he won't talk about, I am not going to push him on the subject until I have to but the effects are evident. He smokes skunk everyday and has done for many years, I discovered last night (due to the fact he hasn't got money to buy any) that he can't bare to go without because he doesn't want to dream...... I already know that he hates being left alone with his own thoughts and it stresses him. What wonderful taste in men I have.............. NOT!!

Where are my results?
It looks like my DD101 TMA05 results are a little. TMA05 was due on 22nd March which means I should have got results back by 5th April and they aren't there. I'm not expecting a grand grade but I just want to know.
Had a morning without boss about so managed to get a couple of questions done on ED209 TMA02, the one about data protection which is pretty straight forward and the one on the 2 variables. I will work on the first question about type of design tonight which then only leaves 6 questions, of which 3 require quite a bit of thought.
I was a little wrong about overstaying welcome at home, in fact my rent has been halved but I now have to do my own washing and ironing........ not come home between the hours of 12am and around 10am so still think moving out is a good idea. Boy toy has suggested that he wouldn't want people over on a school night which could be problematic as I have always worked on an open-house policy and my weekend is a Tuesday!!! Discussion tonight so will know answers tomorrow. I do know that I wouldn't be moving out till end of May so have a little more breathing space.

DD101 TMA05 Submitted
AS with most of my days off at the moment I didn't get a lot done yesterday as boy toy was off so we spent day together and got nothing productive done really.
Boss was out at a meeting this morning so it gave me a chance to finish DD101 TMA05 which pretty much involved referencing, layout and contents page. I am a little worried that I havem't used enough sources and I am certain that this will be pointed at in my PT3 when it comes back. Have now submitted TMA05 which is a nice feeling so I'm on to DD101 TMA06 and ED209 TMA02. Both have been started but not all that far in to them.
Work is fun but the level of business in dire, basically working 55 hours a week for minimum wage and it is satrting to depress the weaker ones, I'm just glad that I live at home with very few outgoings although saving for Masters Degree could prove tough although have discovered that I can get a Career Development Loan for up to £10k.
I wonder if a voluntary position with the Police can lead to a possible job??? I know I would earn less but there is a vast difference between 55 hours a week vs 37.5 hours......... All that extra OU work I could do.

11th hour ED209 TMA01
Made a final amendment and have submitted ED209 TMA01 before the morning meeting. Not normal for me to have submitted on the day......... hope this does not become a habit.
Focus now on DD101 TMA05 and although well over word count, I am far happier with the new version to the previous one. (Only 2 more to go after this!!!) Think I need to book a long weekend to blitz TMA06 and TMA07 so that I am free of them.

Rewritten DD101 TMA05
Yet again another Sunday clock watching at work, in fact I haven't spoken to a customer at all which actually has an advantage. I have rewritten DD101 TMA05 because I really wasn't happy with my first one mainly due to the fact that it was all a little too close to the text. I am a lot happier with this version however I think the intro is too short and I will be a fair way over the word limit by the time I have added references but I will start 'cutting' once I've done that. The debate on economic growth, wealth, health and happiness is very interesting and I think that will be seen in my marks however my idea of report writting may not.....
Last night's cooking went well and boy toy was still alive this morning so I would say success!!! I have to say based on recent weeks boy toy is starting to grow on me. I am finding that although we are quite different, we do seem to have a lot of interests in common. We've decided to re-live our hedonistic party lives and are going to hit Pacha in London on March 26th for a Hed Kandi night (I see a messy night)

Go Slow
I have hit a motivational block. This is nothing OU related but I've done nothing in ages apart from pour over the ED209 notes from tenpencepiece's blog whilst at work as part of a 'revision' tool. Gonna attempt TMA02 ED209 tonight as DD101 TMA05 is in major draft and I am not in the mood for it, have till March 22nd to complete so a whole other day off to sort it.
Have asked for application form for the police as a support volunteer so that I have the experience on my CV, just not sure how to fit it in with my job from hell (in terms of hours) but will need to somehow.

ED209 TMA01 Update
All the bosses are away from the business today and as I failed miserably in getting any of TMA01 done yesterday during my day off I have actually managed to pretty much finish it today. I have exactly 2,000 words which is fairly impressive. I think I have done what my tutor suggested in the tutorial the other day and included all the relevent stuff. I think I have used all the key words relating to Piaget and a small section on Vygotsky which I thought would be important to mention especially as his work actually preceeded Piaget but wasn't discovered till years after Piaget. Been watching bits of Dream School and it was interesting to find that half of school children leave education with nothing, I wonder how much of this is down to Piaget's theories not being actually correct.
The xmas party for my old company which was supposed to be on December 18th (Snow Day) then got cancelled is now tonight (yes, I'm aware it is now mid-March!!!). Managed to get a last minute invite so trying to sort that out although not sure about the £22 return cab fare!!
On to sorting out DD101 TMA05 which is due March 22nd.
Will submit ED209 TMA01 early next week once it's been looked over for punctuation, grammar and sense.

Failed day off
Okay well I managed to do zip yesterday in relation to Open University study. Have till March 15th to submit ED209 TMA01 and till March 22nd to submit DD101 TMA05 which are both in a decent draft form but still with a few amendments to be made. Ended up taking my brother to go and collect his PS3 from his girlfriend's house miles away.
Boy toy has moved house to the other side of the village with his rather mad housemate. The house needs a hell of a lot of work but it's a good size with potential. Boy toy is growning on me a lot so suspect that may need to call him boyfriend soon!!
I have had a look at OU levels and am actually on target for a 2:1 pass for DD101 but only just. Got bless substitutions.

DD101 TMA04 Results
Results are back for DD101 TMA04 and to be honest I think the mark reflects the amount of work that I put in to it. It was being done whilst I was in my old job, submitted early and the tutors comments pretty much reflect this fact.
Have Thursday off so that will be OU study day. In an ideal world I want to make a rewrite of DD101 TMA05 and ED209 TMA01, would also like to create some mind maps for the first 3 chapters of ED209 although not sure there will be that many hours in the day on the basis that the day won't start till at least 11am.
Need to put a lot more effort in to ED209 as these marks actually count. If DD101 is anything to go by then I am only in for a 2:2 and I need a 2:1 so need to buckle down.
New job is a million times better than the last place, sold a few cars although had a few fall through but it's all part of the process.

Part 2 on a Sunday
I have managed a little headway on ED209 this evening and and reading and highlighting Chapter 4. ED209 TMA01 is still in rough draft form but it doesn't need any major changes so am putting it to one side for a while.
Current Assignments in Progress:
DD101 TMA05 - Complete but will recheck before submission day 22nd March
DD101 TMA06 - Still is really rough draft stage but started it before Book 2 arrived so want to read and highlight the relevent stuff and have a play around with it. I have found the reading for this TMA to be a little one sided.
DD101 TMA07 - Still reading and highlighting but it's pretty interesting
ED209 TMA01 - Rough draft but no bad due 15th March
ED209 TMA02 - Have looked at it and read the material but not going to start until DD101 TMA06 is written and I'm happy with it.
My eyes have got a little sore from reading this evening. Turns out everyone was feeling ropey after last night escapades so it's quite in the house this evening. Mum couldn't work out how she got quite so drunk then we pointed out the shots!!! She is a little ashamed. I think I will have a couple of quiet nights Monday and Tuesday as I need to be at train station on Wednesday at 8.15 to start the journey to Disneyland Paris!!!! Can't wait.

OU vs JFK
I was expecting my results for DD101 TMA03 yesterday as I am certain that it was a 14 day turn around however they have not appeared and to be fair, I am not expecting a stonking grade but still want to know.
Today is another wind down day at work and apart from constantly checking for my TMA result, all I have done is investigate the conspiracy of the assasination of JFK which isn't really productive but it is saving me from boredom and I fancied a bit of a break from TMAs.
I've been looking at websites regarding the ED209 exam which I know is a long way away but it helps to know now what I really need to pay attention to!!
I have now more or less finished reading and highlighting ED209 Book 1 Chapter 3 so feeling a little more confident that I can get ahead fairly rapidly.
Can't believe DD101 TMA04 is due on Feb 8th, that seems to have come around rather fast. TMA04 is complete and has been submitted however I will check it over before the deadline in case changes need to be made. TMA05 is still being checked over for SPAG (Spelling, punctuation and grammar)then I'll submit (I just like pressing the button). TMA06 is still a work in progress. TMA07 has been thought about but put on the back burner awaiting arrival of DD101 second mailing which arrived Monday.
