Return from Camping

Left Saturday afternoon, back today....doesn't seem long enough.

Hmmmm camping..........where to begin.

Things I have learnt

Buy a tent with at least 3000HH.... else it is damp in the morning.
2 season sleeping bags are not warm enough for this country however.. 2 of them, one inside the other is.
Camping in valley is wet no matter what.
Drinking a lot means peeing a lot in 'basic' toilets at 5am.
Kids whine no matter what, especially if they are in the tent next to you.
Never pitch next to a guy with a Chopper motorbike... he will leave before you intend to wake and you'll know about it!!
Sex in a tent is interesting and everybody tends to know about it by morning!!!

After all this I can say that I am now well in to camping and can see myself doing it a fair bit.

P.S A friend who did DD101 last year has leant me her books so been reading and watching DVD whilst away. Just want to know title of first Assignment. It can't be too difficult because you aren't expected to have watched or read much and you are told to do it in week 3. Can't wait.

Preparing For Study

Finally Preparing for Study has arrived. Listened to 12 mins of CD which was fairly interesting and read the booklet which I think will actually come in pretty handy for DD101. Just really want to get started now!!!!

Been playing poker tonight and came 19/32. It ain't great but acceptable as always.

Booked Forest of Dean for the bank holiday weekend for a spot of camping - A new experience...... Fingers crossed.

Bank Holiday Camping

Some friends and I have decided to go camping over the Bank Holiday, probably down to Somerset. This is going to be the first time I have camped in over 10 years and even then it was minimal. We are borrowing a tent to see if we actually like it before blowing a fortune on something that we will only use once. Still need to buy inflatable matress (I'm 31 and I don't think my back will take sleep on a mat) and a couple of sleeping bags. Have no idea what else we'll need so going visit Go Outdoors in Oxford for inspiration.
